Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee Body Scrub
Living in drier climates with little to no humidity can be rough on our skin. The lack of moisture leads to more itching and flaking. To help remedy this, I use a sugar and sea salt scrub twice a week as an all over body scrub.
The sea salt I use is a pink himalayan sea salt. Because of how the salt was formed and the limited processing done with it, there are greater amounts of beneficial trace minerals in the salt. I think it gives it a nice color to brighten up the mornings. If you have very sensitive skin, you can omit the salt and just add the same amount of granulated sugar - or you can substitute brown sugar for the sea salt instead.

HOW TO MAKE ORANGE VANILLA SEA SALT BODY SCRUB
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
½ cup finely ground pink himalayan sea salt
½ cup coconut oil
7-8 drops of orange essential oil
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix dry ingredients. In a mixing bowl, (I used a Pyrex measuring cup), combine the 1 ½ cups sugar and ½ cup pink Himalayan sea salt. Mix together with a fork.
Add the carrier oil. If you are using virgin coconut oil, you will need to melt it for about 30 seconds in the microwave. Once it is in liquid form, pour it over the dry ingredients. If you are using fractionated coconut oil, it is in liquid form already and you can just pour it in.
Add the essential oil and vanilla extract. Add 7-8 drops of orange essential oil and 1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
Stir the ingredients. Mix everything together thoroughly so the dry ingredients are coated with the oils and extract.
Scoop the scrub into a sealed container. Place the finished scrub in a container with a lid. I put mine in the shower and have used these containers in the past. The heat from the shower keeps the coconut oil melted enough to continue use until the next batch!
Use your body scrub. Massage gently onto skin, then rinse off with warm water.
