Honey Wheat Muffins

Sweet and made with whole wheat flour, these muffins are delicious and add more fiber into your diet.

 

Honey Wheat Muffin Recipe

PREP TIME: 10 minutes      COOK TIME: 20-25 minutes      SERVINGS: 12

 

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup honey
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup applesauce

 

Directions

Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Grease or line muffin tin with cupcake liners. In a large bowl, stir together flour, honey, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a small bowl, mix the egg, vanilla, milk and applesauce.

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the egg mixture. Stir gently with a fork just until dry and wet ingredients are incorporated - about 12 strokes.

Fill muffin cups 2/3 full and bake 20-25 minutes, and when a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. Serve warm.
